The DVD-727 also comes equipped with two microphone input jacks and one microphone for karaoke. The DVD player's features include subtitles, multiple viewing angles, an onscreen display, zoom, and parental lock. Use the full-function remote control to take advantage of all of these features.

Dolby Digital 5.1 means that the DVD-727 is capable of playing DVDs in five channels and one subwoofer, and gives you greater clarity from the center channel and improved separation of music from dialog. Audio outputs include 5.1 Dolby Digital, coaxial digital, optical digital, and analog audio out, and video outputs include component video out for progressive scan, RCA video, and S-video outputs. The built-in amplifier also features a separate channel control.

I placed a bid on this model not knowing what it was. I received the unit and when I first saw the unit I thought I had bought a pig in a poke. but now that I have installed the unit it is perfect for my dvd and cd player.The wires are to short that is true but that was no problem. I placed the speakers in the room where the drawing called for them to be and replaced the short leads with longer wires to the unit. I have surround sound with this unit that is great for the price. If you want better surround sound then you will have to pay a lot more, as for me this unit is great for what I am using it for. thank you

KLH AT2100i 400 Watt Amplified Television Home Audio System Customer Review

I picked up this package for 0. It is an excellent sounding system. I am very impressed. It compliements my Sony 32 inch Wega Trinitron TV. The picture on my TV is great but the sound is lacking. What is great about this system is that it is self-amplified, meaning no need to connect to a reciever.

Please ignore the 400 watt rating

The rating that counts is the RMS rating. RMS watt is the continous loudness. The subwoofer's RMS is 65 watts and the left and right speakers are 35 watt.

Setup:
Basically the setup is Plug and Play. Take the RCA cable and connect between the TV and subwoofer. Connect the speaker wire from the subwoofer to the speakers and basically your set.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT use the enclosed speaker wire. If you do you'll be sorry. Go out and pick up a small roll of 16 guage wire! Bite the bullet pay the $$.You will not be sorry. Using the enclosed speaker wire KLH provided, the sound become distorted at mid-to-high volume. With the 16 guage wire, the sound was much fuller and no distortion.

The package also include:
1) A docking station for your ipod. You take your ipod and stick it in the provided doc station. Then run the enclosed ipod cable from the doc station to a special ipod input on the back of the woofer. I don't have and ipod so I can review that feature.

2) Includes a a bunch of other cables you might need, a Y splitter cable to, etc

Performace:
My TV sounds a hell of a lot better. My living room measure 19 by 20 feet. The sound is awesome. The subwoofer fills the room with bass (you can adjust the volume). The left and right speakers have a dome tweeter so dialouge sounds crisp. Movies and TV shows just seem to more engaging.

Aside from movies and TV, you can hook up your laptop, mp3 player, or compact disc player to the headphone jack input on the subwoofer.

Conclusion:
As long as you DON'T use the enclosed speaker wire and use 16 guage wire, you will be happy. This is an excellent 2.1 channel system for those of you who don't need a full blown home theatre but would like better sound that your TV cannot produce.
Overall, this package includes everything you need, for a great price.

I purchased these speakers about 2 or 3 months ago, and so far I am very pleased. To be honest I was skeptical of how good they would be, considering most systems sell for much more, but went ahead and got them figuring I had nothing to lose for the price(around ). Never owned a sound system before, and had only purchased my first flat screen TV a few months before. Considering I paid 1,000+ for the TV, I wanted to add more dynamic sound (mostly wanted more bass) to my Xbox gaming and movie watching, for as little as possible. After getting the speakers, the installation was pretty easy, although the very simple instruction guide (if you can call a 3 page index card a guide) had me a little nervous. Total installation time was about 10 minutes, and the first thing I did was turn on my Xbox for a little Call of Duty 4. Not knowing, I put the bass all the way up and the sound a little more than half way. Started my first game and I was really enjoying the sound, the bass was wonderful and really added to all the explosions and gun fire in the game. Once I was done with that game, trying to be considerate of my roommates, I wanted to make sure it was not too loud. So I asked them if they could hear me in my room playing, response: "sounded like a war zone, you must have been killing fools".

Pros: Sound quality for the price. (Never owned another system, so I can't compare it to a more expensive setup)

Cons: The biggest and only flaw worth noting is if you want to mute the TV while the speakers are on using the TV's remote, the TV will mute but not the speakers. The only way to mute the speakers is to walk over to them and turn them down or off. (The 3 knobs in the pictures above are the only settings, On/Off, Bass, Volume) A remote would have eased this problem, but it's really not a big deal.

Overall these speakers added what I wanted, more sound and bass than the TV speakers were producing. Really improves my gaming and movie watching experience and I'm very glad I took a chance on these. Additional note - I use these in a bedroom, not sure how they would sound in a large living room but I would think the bigger the room the less joy you will receive from these.(My bed room is fairly large though)

Earth shattering sound and dynamic bass that makes the bose systems out there sound like kazoos. Why spend more than the price of dinner at ruby tuesday on a surround sound system? My colon is still bleeding.
